Rituals
For all if not most of human history, rituals have been a part of communal and individual spiritual and social lives. Rituals have helped us to commemorate and acknowledge change and transitions, grief and loss, celebrations and were a fundamental part of building a sense of community and identity. Unfortunately, in modern society especially if we do not belong to a traditional organized religion, we often lack access to this important part of our experience as humans and of being part of a community. These traditions and connections to elders and ancestors provided a sense that whatever difficulty, we are not alone in this world.
I enjoy working with individuals and groups to cultivate and provide sacred rituals. Rituals have the power to heal and counteract the sense of loneliness, isolation and insecurity that is a common experience in modern society.
Rituals can be utilized to signify a transition in life such as coming into a new phase of life. Some examples…
Leaving home as a young adult
Embracing your trans* identity
Honoring ancestral/land relations
Ecological loss/extinction
A couple of examples of rituals I have conducted…
A group release of self-doubts and judgements individuals were carrying from toxic work environments
Honoring a lost loved one
Honoring of those experiencing war and ongoing violence of colonization
Land relationship initiation
Wild Sanctuary
Wild Church is a network of groups across the country who are facilitating services and community spiritual experience in the outdoors. If you are interested in collaborating on developing some type of outdoor service that occurs once or ongoing, please reach out.
Although church is in the title, these services are not restricted to Christianity or religious. I would like to develop an ongoing group and am looking for community to join me. To learn more about Wild Church, visit their website here.
